Session times can be arranged to be one, two or three hours in length.
The time frame between each session takes in consideration each person’s individual needs and to work with best practice of re-wiring and creating new neural pathways that lead to changing the way a person feels and the integration of new positive patterns of behaviour.
Why choose a program over and above individual sessions?
Creating programs encourages individuals to commit to a process of change by giving themselves sufficient time and space for healing, growing, learning and the processing of new information. It provides a greater opportunity and potential for change to occur when an individual can plan around their needs. Programs attract clients who have a strong desire and motivation to make changes in their lives, which are the key ingredients for a client to successfully reach their goals and desired outcomes.
The advantage of a person working within a needs-based designed program, is that the time given is based on what a person has identified that best works with the way they process information and the time-frame they need for break-throughs, new insights and understanding.
Individual sessions often have some of the following characteristics:
- To relieve immediate bothersome or distressing symptoms.
- Investment in the self is often limited to the here and now of each session
- Come and try to see if it works attitude
- Limited commitment in the process of creating change
- Home-play commitment can be compromised.
- Accountability for one’s own actions is an important ingredient in long-lasting/permanent change, which at times is not observed when individual sessions occur at random.
- There may be a number of issues linked to an underlying problem that is creating undesired
Symptoms. In many cases these cannot be fully addressed in one short session or in ad-hock sessions.
Deeply rooted issues require commitment and timely paced sessions. Ad-hock one by one sessions of therapy reduces the success rate to rewire and create new neural pathways that make permanent long-lasting change.
Programs have the following characteristics:
- Individualised plans are created around a clients needs, goals and objectives.
- A person is committed to the process

- The number of sessions and the length of each session are adaptable to a client’s objectives goals and needs.
- The depth of commitment and motivation to create change is often greater.
- Deal with the immediate relief from bothersome symptoms and then focus on the deeply entrenched character patterns of behavioural responses and thoughts.
- Clients are better resourced so that they can cope with future life challenges.
- The program time span takes into consideration the time it takes to develop new neural pathways to form solid positive habits and new behaviours.
- Once the change has taken place, we then step back and refine the changes to meet life’s challenges.
- Support is offered between sessions, either via text, email, messenger, video link or phone.
