Fertility: It is important to acknowledge the importance of the mind/body connection in the process of conceiving. The subconscious mind is the holder of belief systems, thought patterns and coping strategies. The body is the holder of emotional memory and stress responses to past experiences, that may influence the ability to conceive.
Your mind is incredible and has the power to overcome those things we over focus on that get in the way when trying to become pregnant.
When our body is under stress it releases hormones that include cortisol and adrenaline to prepare us for the fight, flight, freeze and faint response as if we are in danger. Continued release of these stress hormones tells the body that the time is not safe to conceive a baby.
Sometimes we hear or experience something that is negative to us on a subconscious or conscious level that may produce a thought and an undesired emotional response. Like a mouse on a wheel, emotions create thoughts, which creates more emotions and around it goes. This compounding of thought and emotional responses may create a habit response that may have an impact upon fertility.
An Israeli study on women undergoing IVF showed an increased conception rate of women who had hypnosis compared to those who did not. Working with the subconscious mind offers an
opportunity to release stresses stored in the body so that the body’s potential to conceive is increased.
Hypnosis can assist in the release of blocks, unhelpful belief systems and undesired emotion problems that may impact upon the body’s natural ability to conceive. General guide of 4 – 6 sessions.
Birthing with Hypnotherapy – For a more comfortable and calmer birthing experience. In the modern world it was realised through observing the birthing practices of women in many Asian and third world countries that birthing itself was not normally a painful event. Whereas the western birthing model over the last century or so has made it more of a medical process that has disengaged women from their natural instincts and intuition that uses the body’s natural innate abilities tobirth naturally.
Thank goodness that is changing. There is still a way to go as birthing as the language associated with birthing may produce an unconscious response associated with the survival mechanisms of fight or flight that may create stress, fear and tension. So many times have I heard from mums to be, that as soon as she told others that she was pregnant all the negative pregnancy and birthing stories were regaled. Fear created tension and tension created pain.
Hypnosis incorporated as part of a woman’s birthing plan, can assist to connect to the innate natural abilities of their birthing body for a natural approach to a safe, easier and more comfortable birthing experience.
Since 2012, after being trained in The Mongan Hypnobirthing Method it has been a privilege to work with women and their partners to give the best opportunity to experience the joy of natural birthing that creates the most nurturing bonding experience with their baby.
